New book: The Kinesthetic Classroom

New in the library! The Kinesthetic Classroom: teaching and learning through movement by Traci Lengel and Mike Kuczala (2010)
This book draws on education research and describes how regular physical movement increases attention span and helps the brain master new information. It shows how to use short activity breaks to refocus students and movement-based activities to reinforce curriculum. While it was largely written with school children in mind, many of the activities can be adapted for use with adults.
