Skills for Work
Skills for Work is a new 18 course online training series, created by AWES (Alberta Workforce Essential Skills) in partnership with TIQ Software. Designed using gaming principles, the self-paced courses can be completed on a computer, laptop, tablet, or smartphone.
The focus is on building language, essential skills, and knowledge of workplace culture. While the training is intended for newcomers, it is also useful for anyone working on skills development and employment readiness.
The online series is broken into two levels: the first 9 courses are targeted to CLB 3-5 and the second 9 courses move into CLB 6-8.
Skills for Work will be available at no cost until February 2021. You can register here to try this pilot project.
There’s a 30-minute introductory webinar on July 29th.
