Current Opportunities

Controller

The controller is responsible for the preparation of monthly financial statements, annual budgets, financial forecasts, payroll, variance analysis, monthly management reporting, financial reporting to funders, quarterly reporting to the board of directors and analyzing current operations for cost savings and efficiencies for the Society. The controller also prepares for and manages the external audits for the Society and the Foundation.

This is a part-time position at 20 hours per week.

Library Technician

The primary focus of this position is circulation and cataloguing. The successful candidate will also be responsible for reference service, statistical reporting, maintaining the library collection and assisting with the Decoda Literacy Conference April 18-19. This term position may be extended, month to month.

This is a term, part-time position at 10 hours per week.

Program Assistant

The program assistant maintains efficient office processes and provides support for the IPALS program and the program manager. The IPALS assistant reports to the Program Manager.

Bookkeeper and Administrative Assistant (Six-month term)

Bookkeeper duties include working closely with leadership to create and analyze financial reports and ensure legal requirements compliance, process accounts payable and receivable and manage invoices and tax payments. The bookkeeper will participate in fund development, through budget preparation for funding proposals. The bookkeeper reports to the Executive Director.

This is a term, full-time position at 35 hours per week.

Board Director

Support community literacy across British Columbia.

Decoda has a strong, professional staff responsible for day to day operations of the organization. As a member of the Board, you will be responsible for the effective governance and overall direction of the organization.

This is a volunteer position, with a 3-year term.
