ABC Health Matters Workbooks

A recent blog post from ABC Life Literacy Canada reminds us of The importance of health literacy during a pandemic. It also points to free health literacy resources for adults.

There are two health literacy workbooks, Take Charge of Your Health and Map Out Your Health, that were revised for ABC’s Activate Learning project. While these have been customized for use in Newfoundland and Labrador, the general guidance is relevant in other contexts. (You’ll just need to substitute local health services.)

And, there are information sheets for patients and caregivers on a variety of topics, including Caring for a loved one, Tips for your next Doctor Visit, and Your Rights as a Patient.
