It’s Family Literacy Day!
Sponsored by ABC Life Literacy Canada since 1999, January 27th is Family Literacy Day in Canada. It’s a national day to raise awareness of the importance of reading and engaging in other literacy-related activities as a family. Barbara Reid, award-winning Canadian author and illustrator, is the Honourary Chair of Family Literacy Day 2020.
This year’s theme is Take 20 and families are encouraged to take 20 minutes each day to learn together as part of their everyday routine.
Every year ABC Life Literacy Canada develops free resources to help celebrate Family Literacy Day. This year’s resources for families include:
- Barbara Reid Tips sheet: English French
- Activity Sheet: English French
- Activity Book: English French
